These casual positions will include a mixture of bar work and front of house duties, such as greeting audiences and showing people to their seats.

Returning To Live Events Safely

We are looking forward to welcoming you back to live performances and events. Your comfort and safety is our priority and we want to reassure you about the steps we are taking to keep us all safe at this time.

  • Please be kind and respectful to fellow audience members and staff, and keep your distance from others wherever possible.
  • Whilst it is no longer a legal requirement, our staff will continue to wear face masks. We strongly encourage visitors and audience members to wear a face mask whilst moving through the venue if you are able to do so.
  • Please make use of hand sanitiser which is available throughout the venue.
  • Do not enter the venue or attend an event if you or anyone in your household is feeling unwell with any symptoms of COVID-19.
  • Our staff members are carrying out regular Covid-19 testing, and we encourage you to take a lateral flow test before attending the venue. You can find out more and order free tests here.
  • Enhanced cleaning routines have been established in the theatre, with a particular focus on high-traffic touch points.
  • Our theatre is now operating at full capacity, which means you may be sitting next to other people.

LAMDA Teachers (Peripatetic), Rugby School

We are looking to appoint part-time LAMDA teachers to work as part of our highly successful LAMDA team in this expanding area of school life within a flourishing Department of Theatre & Performing Arts in the School’s Macready Theatre.  The successful candidates will have a proven record of accomplishment of performance and/or teaching experience. 

Applications from actors currently working within the industry are particularly welcome and flexible working arrangements can be made for actors who gain professional acting work during term time.

Flexible hours of work, Evenings & during the day

Current rate of £21.50 per hour

Rugby School is an independent boarding school of approximately 800 pupils and 100 full-time members of the teaching staff. Entry for most boys and girls is at 13, chiefly from preparatory schools via the Common Entrance or Scholarship Examination.

Call-out: Edinburgh Festival Preview Opportunity

The Macready Theatre is situated in the heart of Rugby town.

We are a 250 seat theatre with big aspirations. Our aim is to educate and inspire. We run a programme of professional work throughout the year and offer up to 1/3 of all tickets to professional touring work free to local school groups in term time.

This summer we are programming an Edinburgh preview season from 28th June – 14th July.

If you have a show you are taking up the Edinburgh Festival 2019 and would like to preview it in Rugby, please get in touch.
