Welcome to Macready Theatre – On The Road
As Macready Theatre embarks on an exciting refurbishment, we remain absolutely committed to presenting world class live entertainment for our audiences throughout this period of transformation. While our home is temporarily closed, our ethos has not changed: great theatre, great music, great comedy and great shared experiences, right here in Rugby. I am hugely grateful to Rugby School for their generosity in allowing us to use a range of venues across the campus, creating a network of ‘pop up’ theatre spaces that will see us through until January 2027.
This season’s programme truly reflects that spirit of adaptability and ambition. From Pizza and Jazz nights bringing much loved favourites like Jazz Not Jazz and Frankie Lee and the Casuals to new and familiar spaces, to the return of sell out laughter with Manford’s Comedy Club, we are delighted to continue welcoming outstanding professional touring work. Theatre lovers can also look forward to Guy Masterson’s gripping solo production of Animal Farm, alongside brilliant live music including Onyx Brass and Swing From Paris, ensuring there is something for every taste.
Families and young people remain at the heart of what we do. Our programme includes an adaptation of Wind in the Willows, ensuring that the magic of live theatre continues for younger audiences even while we are on the move. Alongside this, we are proud to showcase student performances and term time theatre and performing arts events, celebrating the incredible talent of young people from Rugby School.
This season may look a little different, but our mission remains the same: to serve Rugby and its surrounding communities with high quality, accessible live arts experiences. Thank you for continuing to support Macready Theatre during this exciting transitional period – we cannot wait to welcome you to one of our pop up venues very soon.
