Cable Street

Monday 21 – Wednesday 23 March 2022
7.30pm | Free

Rugby School has been selected to participate in the National Theatre Connections programme. Students aged 13 to 14 will perform in Cable Street, a new play written by Lisa Goldman.

The play tells the story of a romance between two young girls taking place over the 1936 Battle of Cable Street, where working class Jews and communists successfully faced down a fascist march by Oswald Mosley and the Black Shirts in London’s East End.

The play will be performed in the Macready Theatre in Rugby before moving to a professional theatre in Doncaster.
