Based in offices within the theatre building, our core team are dedicated to bringing culture and creativity to the heart of Rugby town.

Artistic Director

Dr Tim Coker
Tim Coker is a theatre-maker, composer, sound designer and teacher. Tim trained at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire and holds degrees from the universities of Manchester, Royal Holloway University of London and Reading. His PhD focuses on the relationship between contemporary music, experimental theatre and the modern audience. Tim has directed and written new work for a range of artists, ensembles and venues including Traverse Theatre, Pleasance Theatre, Wycombe Swan, Anvil Basingstoke and C Venues Edinburgh and his music and theatre work has been performed at festivals and in concert halls across Europe by some of the world’s leading ensembles. He is published by Edition HH. Theatre Manager

Amie Johnson
Amie joined Macready Theatre in November 2022 as Theatre Manager, after managing arts organisation programmes, directing Youth Theatre groups and teaching Drama in Oxfordshire. Amie achieved her Performing Arts Honours Degree in 2011 and later trained with Oxford Brookes to succeed a PGCE. Amie has written and directed theatre, fronted an acoustic band and started up her own creative stationery business, Stick With Me Design, which ran for 3 years. Amie’s vision is to grow Macready Theatre’s audience, outreach to many communities across Warwickshire, collaborate with local businesses and other theatres, and bring vibrant culture and social events to Rugby.
